Our Story: Driven by Innovation, Built to Protect
 

Founded in 2006 by Kimberly Lindy and Intellectual Property Resources, the BPIP Conference is
a leading international and prestigious event for intellectual property professionals.

BPIP is dedicated to a singular core mission: equipping IP professionals with the advanced
knowledge and strategic tools necessary to effectively protect the intellectual property of
Israeli companies. In a nation where our innovations serve as our ultimate natural resources,
safeguarding that ingenuity is paramount. Today, attendees are deeply invested in the
program: you will find them actively participating in the sessions and lectures rather than
lingering outside, though great networking and connections naturally follow.

The Genesis of Our Mission

• The Industry Gap: When the In-House IP Managers Forum was established in 2004, most managers stepping into these roles came directly from engineering and R&D backgrounds with little training in intellectual property.

 

• The Educational Need: Many had to learn from scratch what a patent actually was, how 
  to protect it, and where and how applications needed to be filed. Because their only 
  source of guidance usually came from a single local patent attorney and that individual's specific perspective, it simply wasn't enough.

• Expanding the Horizon: Local patent firms provided five programs annually, but it was 
  clear that relying on a local perspective was not enough for the growing Israeli market. Recognizing this limitation, the board suggested the creation of a conference where global experts would lecture, inviting international authorities to Israel to share the diverse perspectives and real-world experience that in-house managers urgently needed.

Evolution into BPIP

What began as a local grassroots endeavor expanded, driven by a vision to bring international
perspectives and elite guidance directly to Israel. This vision gave birth to the annual BPIP
Conference. Over more than a decade of growth, even as we gather the brightest minds from
across the globe, our core mission has never wavered - we remain a profoundly educational
endeavor. We dedicate ourselves tirelessly each year to weaving together a program that
honors this goal, ensuring that the brilliant minds we convene provide more than just high-level
discourse. We are committed to making sure every attendee leaves with rich, practical
knowledge they can immediately apply to improve and master their everyday work.
